I must say I am not quite proud of my last post. It was a bit exaggerated to say the least. I personally do not enjoy posts which are highly prejudiced and show only one-sided or biased views. My previous posts was exactly the kind I hate the most. I think the problem has much deeper roots than just simple error in thinking on that particular day. It had more to do with the transition in my normal views and attitude which are becoming increasing bullheaded and prejudiced. I think I should try to rectify this since it is not something I expect of myself. So this completes my egocentric bit of the post.
In the past week I watched two movies "Chak De" and " Hey Baby". I must say I will remember both of them for some foreseeable future. One of the movies was a mix of "masala" and serious fiction weaving a plot using a number of social issues in Indian society, exposing a few problems within the society and forcing the viewers to ponder over them. However, I have doubts whether all the people have appreciated"Chak de" because of the social issues it has raised or the masala factor in it. I am more inclined to say that latter should be the real reason. My assertion is also influenced by the fact that when I was in the movie hall I heard more cheers from the crowd sitting in the hall than the artificial crowd noise in the movie when the scene of hockey final was being shown. Although it was quite obvious plot from the start and I do not see any reason for movie crowd to be so animated. Having said that, I am not against cinema crowd being animated but this act puts some question marks over IQ of an average movie watcher.
The other movie "Hey Baby" is also a movie which I will not forget easily but for all the wrong reasons. Please go and watch this movie if you like to see baby tantrums(I am not sure it is the correct terminology), baby poo and baby peeing. I do not know how that child actor would feel when he/she grows up and sees this movies where he/she has been paraded in front of camera doing everything which a thing named privacy protects being displayed in public. However, to be honest, I am not too bothered about it. But the point I am trying to make here is that "Sajid Khan" have to have ridiculously cheap sense of humour if he thinks baby poo and pee are funny! Fardeen Khan is a disgrace in the name of acting. Even his dad Feroz khan is a better actor than him. Even Akshaye paaji looked rusty in this movie, lacking his usual charisma in this genre. Much better should have been expected from Sajid's directional debut.
I also finished HP7- the Deathly Hallows - The book was a disappointment. Having built-up the plot so nicely in the previous six books, I think J.K.Rowling finished the last book in some hurry. There were a few printing errors (I dont know if these were just in my book since this book had a discount of 3 pounds) and the plot of the book was fairly obvious. It lacked usual Rowling's dark twists and turns. I guess one of the primary reasons may be that this time book was more focussed on young readers than last two books of the series. However I feel proud that I have finished one of the most publicized 7 book series in the history of fantasy fiction. The next frontier should definitely be "The Lord of the Rings".
Another long post - You might have been thinking I have a lot of spare time. But to be honest this is kinda true for this week only. Previous weeks had been so busy that I didn't even check my personal e-mails and orkut for a week.
