Today's post is based on my observations from the Bajaj Pulsar commercial, DLF IPL commerical and movie RACE. My regular readers will expect me tear apart the movie, so for them - yes I will do that, but not now, may be later in this post. However coming to original point, I watched these three things today and made a very obvious observations that background music have made these commercials and movies so popular. Then I started thinking about how much is this background music affecting the current generation. For example: imagine someone inspired by music in Bajaj Pulsar ad, trying to imitate the same stunts, performed in ad, to experience the same thrill he thinks these stuntmen were enjoying while performing shown stunts. However, this thrill might have been an illusion created by the background music and hence, this person doing the stunt in search of the thrill will not enjoy it as much as he anticipated because the thrill was a false illusion, impractical anticipation but not reality. Similarly, it might be the case with anything else that is shown using mass media coupled with background music - then be it driving/car chase scene, sports scene, saas-bahu melodramas, romance, sex or even death. We may have unrealistic expectations with hyperactive feelings in a lot of these real life situations due to illusions created by background music in reel life. So looking at a broader picture, is background music responsible for reduced zest of life in people? Have we already started living a virtual life?
I dont know how much sense has above paragraph made to you. But just imagine how much more fun life would be if everytime you do something an appropriate background track can be heard.
Anyways, nice little serious post from me after a lot of time. I will let you mull over this, meanwhile I move on to other better things in my life at this time like sleeping. :)
